1. What Sharelp stands for?

It's not difficult to find sharelp is coined from share and help.

  2. How Was Sharelp conceived?

You may have seen many online communities have a forum called request. People post requests there in expectation of getting help from others. The intention is really kind, but few can get what they want(You may also have been disappointed).
No pay, no gain. You give help and then you can get it. Everybody needs others' help and everybody can help others.

Here, on sharelp, we provide a mechanism that connects request(plus share) and help. You can make requests as long as you helped others. Your requests are listed on the main page with Shares, which will be hardly neglected.

We aim to set up a community where people are willing to help each other.

  3. Share and Request

A Share is a post where people publish links to resources(which maybe stored on web file hosting sites, like rapidshare).

A Request is a post where people hope to get help from others.

  4. Request's states

Request has three states: Unsolved, Solving and Solved.

    • When nobody gives a solution, the Request is in Unsolved state.
    • On having one or more solutions, the Request is in Solving state.
    • When the poster accepts one solution, the Request turns to Solved state.

  5. Scoupon and Hcoupon

your scoupon is increased by one when you post a Share while hcoupon is increased by one when you helped others(that is, solved any other's request). You can make a Request by using up 1 hcoupon or several scoupons.

On the purpose of controlling the ratio of Share on Request, to make a Request use up more than one scoupons. The number of scoupons is dynamic, now is 3.

If you have both scoupons and hcoupons, when you make a Request, the number of scoupons will be checked first. If your scoupons are enough, scoupons will be decreased by 3, or hcoupons decreased by 1.

You cannot make a request if you have neither enough scoupons nor more than one hcoupon. And you cannot get back your coupons after your Request is solved(which is in Solved state).

  6. Comments: Solution, Chosen, Denied, Mirror, Appended

We have these different kinds of comment on sharelp.

    • You can give a solution to a not-solved request(which is in Unsolved state or Solving state).
    • If one solution is accepted by the request poster, this solution becomes Chosen. And the request becomes Solved.
    • If one solution is denied(regarded as useless by the request poster), it becomes denied.

    • Mirror as its name implies, it provides an alternative approach for people to get Share's resources.
    • If a Share is a series(e.g. a TV program which has a few episodes), people can give Appended(comments).

These comments are shown in different styles. You can distinguish between them easily.

  7. Not all posts are shown on the main page

Because some posts are liked by many people but others not, we don't want to pile up unpopular posts on the main page, which may scare away new visitors. But if you read posts in a category or under some tag, you can see all posts of that kind. A post can NOT be shown on the main page if

    • It has no image in its introduction.(Or no image can be rendered.)
    • It's regarded as unpopular by censors.
    • It's posted in software or music category by normal members and not regarded as popular by censors.

  8. Trusted and Censor

After you register on sharelp, you are just a common member.
If you are promoted to Trusted, your post can be shown on the main page as long as it has an image in its introduction.
If you are promoted to Censor, you can almost do anything( including edit and delete) on posts and comments.

  9. Reward

Of course, you are actually rewarded when you get help from others. But on sharelp, it's not the whole story.
We evaluate your contribution(the quantity you shared and helped) and provide space on our main page to put your link(e.g. your blog) if you are qualified. This will bring visitors to your site and advance your site's pagerank.
